Standard and Custom Designed Studies

We believe in transparency but we also know each study is unique and very hard to price without knowing the detailed requirements of the study. The sample pricing provided in this page are for formative and summative studies with limited scope. Please contact Seifion to discuss the scope of the studies for your product or if you would like to modify the studies designs shown here to fit your needs. *Pricing is for direct clients only and may be adjusted if your studies require travel and/or specialist participants. All prices in US Dollars.

Informal Formative Study

Purpose of this type of study is to quickly evaluate prototypes and concept and select the ideal design to move forward:

One hour 1/1 sessions
8 participants total (patients)
1-3 prototypes
Defined study objectives
Informal report in slides format
Turnaround Time: 3 weeks
Cost: $3,0000*

Formal Formative Study

This formative study will rapidly evaluate prototypes with a formal protocol and report:

One hour 1/1 sessions
12 participants total (patients and/or RNs)
1-3 prototypes
Formal protocol
Formal report
Turnaround Time: 4 weeks
Cost: $45,000*

Formal Summative (validation) Study

Purpose of this type of study is to validate a fully developed device and/or instructions for use:

One hour 1/1 sessions
30 participants
2 User Groups (e.g. patients, RNs)
Formal protocol
Formal report
Usability requirements trace
Turnaround Time: 6 weeks
Cost: $65,000*

URRA

This activity will assess the risks of a device or a drug product and determine the potential for any use errors. Based on the level of risk additional mitigation plans may be proposed:

Collect information about users, product interface, tasks, use environment, etc.
Assess information
Create risk tables
Propose Design/HF activities to mitigate risks
Turnaround time: 2-4 weeks
Cost: $10,000-$20,000+ complexity dependent.
